flock lockdown??

After bringing home a new bird there has been a respiratory bug moving through my flock of free range birds. New one was isolated and bug still got around!! It lasts about a week and resolves with meds in water. After that birds are ok.

HERE IS THE QUESTION , Do I need to lock my flock as in NO new birds in and NO selling what I have or is that overreacting?

I think you are being cautious and that is always a good thing as it relates to isolation and new flock in Did you always tend your isolated one last? That is helpful and the only other thing is that I do complete washup before going out again to check on anything. I believe that chicken dander etc can get on our clothes and hands etc. and we can carry it as well.

You might want to check with your state npip to see how they can test what is going on for you!!! Praying everything goes well!!!
