There are no vets in our area, we do live in the US and have contacted the state before, unlike you the nearest SU will not perform a free necropsy, and as far as I know the nearest avian vet is 150+ miles away.
I am positive my chickens have fowl pox, I have stopped the antibiotic after 3 days, and I now have them on Immuno Boost from McMurray Hatchery, most of the lesions are healing well and some of the worst hens look like nothing happened to them!
The chick unfortunately died, but both eyes closed up and I was unable to help her because I was out of town and my parents were taking care of the animals for me. They don't know how to tube feed and so forth, I had a feeling she wasn't going to make it anyway, she was young and without much of an immune system.
Anyway, my flock is improving, my next step is to work out a pest management program... the biggest problem are mosquitoes, then roaches, rats and mice, and flies! But since 90% of my problem I believe has come from mosquitoes they are my biggest concern!
Off to do mosquito research!!
Thank you to everyone!!!
