Flock Master64's Coop/Hutch Photo Contest!

@Flock Master64
I'm glad you posted a pic of Rebatk1 's  coop because I couldn't get linked to it to see it -- it's kinda small to see but better than nothing.  Thx.  Are you interested in publicizing the coop/hutch contest on the BYC thread "post your chicken coop pictures here" to let them know you have a contest?  I didn't advertise anything on their thread because this is your contest and not mine :) .

I did earlier. So far no ones showed up

Never mind @Flock Master64 -- you already visited the other thread

Here's my coop,which I call...

Front of coop with run.
Run is 20' x 20', 6' high chain-link fencing with a 1/2" hardware cloth skirt, 2' up the chain-link extending 1' out.
Welded wire across the entire top and double door entryway.

Next spring I'm going to add a couple of flower boxes with wildflowers in the front.

Rear of coop from inside of run. The 'people door' and two chicken portals are the only access into the coop.

The tarp not only provides shade and rain protection, but also collects that rain, providing water for the chickens.

Inside is 8 feet wide x 6 feet front to back.
This view is looking towards the front of the coop (I hadn't put the sign in yet)

The poop trays are filled with Sweet PDZ which absorbs moisture and neutralizes ammonia.
They keep over a gallon and a half of poop out of the bedding each and every week!

The cabinet in the center not only stores the feed and other chicken coop things, it also creates two nesting boxes,
one at the front end of each dormer (The 'wings' on the sides of the A-frame). You can see Braveheart sitting in one.

Either dormer can be screened off creating a 6 square foot brooding area if necessary.

I got a lot of these ideas right here from other members of BYC.

Awesome coop. Love your roosting bars.

Thanks, they're 2 1/4" handrails. I sanded the top surface with coarse sandpaper to provide better grip for the chickens (they were originally smooth). I liked that they are curved so their feet can wrap around them more naturally, yet still flat enough that their feathers can cover those same footsies in cold weather.
