Flock of roosters on same property as hens??

I’ve been thinking about rescuing roosters and know they can live happily together if there are no ladies around. We have five acres, and I have hens already, but I was wondering if anyone has successfully raised both separately if they are far apart? I was thinking I’d put the boys on one side and the girls on the other? Not sure if this will work...thoughts?

It would be a mix of ages and breeds. I just want to give them homes.

I live in the country and, to my knowledge, there aren’t restrictions out here...
I could be wrong though!!

Figure that out first - there might not be an actual rooster restriction, but might be noise restrictions that could possibly apply if neighboring houses are closer to your property line.

I started reading up on it last night and there are noise restrictions. I just feel bad for roosters and want to try to assist. What about an older male? I don’t want him being too rough with my girls.

I just have a valid interest in trying to help roosters and know several farms in the area that have flocks of them. One of them only has roosters, though, and I wanted to hear from other people about their experiences.

And I just moved to a farm from a very urban setting where I couldn’t have any roosters and had to adopt all of mine out. It was sad.

Space is key - and the word farm means different things to different people.

Personally I think you need to consider the bio hazard of collecting roosters from other people and your current flock.

Noise of multiple roosters can be intense. Roosters and hens in sight or sound of the other sex will be highly motivated to find each other. Reality and roosters are often not what is seen through rose colored glasses. I do not recommend ever getting birds you feel sorry for, they tend to cause huge problems, in health and society of your birds.
