Flock Raiser dated July 8th

I try and use all feed by 3 months from date on the bag. After that, I am very leary. Store all feed in a cool dark place, away from bugs and rodents. Always use your nose and eyes, if it smells bad or looks discolored or funky, get rid of it. And when it comes to smell, get used to what your feed smells like and always compare the smell from a fresh bag to any bag you purchase. Your bag from July should still be good.

What do you guys use to store your feed?
I keep my chickens feed in my hallway near the back door in a tightly closed bag. 20180602_143543.jpg . My coop is only 28 feet from the back door. GC

I store mine in the original bag in my garage, they sit on a stall mat. I buy direct from Bartlett Mill. The oldest bag I have ever bought, is 6 days past mill date. It doesn't last long enough to worry about it loosing any nutrients or going bad.

My feed is almost always within 1 - 2 weeks of mill date when purchased. It is stored in my unheated garage. I have a metal garbage can setting on a pallet which will hold 2 bags, and a purple tote which will hold 3 bags. I use an other garbage can for my grains. I keep the feed in the bags when it goes into the cans/tote.
