After Im done with the rest of my chick starter/grower Im switching my birds over to flock raiser. Do I just switch over or do I start mix the two? I dont want issues with my babies.
Thanks.

Texts and poultry feed resources recommend mixing the starter with adult feed to transition them over. I have only layers and my brand of feed recommended a specific age to make the change. Both feeds were crumbles and not pellets. Started with a 1/4 mixture, then 50%. The girls accepted it without any sign of distress so I just changed to 100% new feed then. I think if you are changing textures, you should mix the tow more slowly.

If you are using the same brand, they are pretty much the same if you read the label, unless you have medicated chick starter. The chick starter may be a finer grind crumble, but I would use up all of the chick starter, and just mix the two the last couple of days.
