I have two naked neck houdan cross. The comb on one is very small and doesn't resemble the normal comb type of either parent. I only had 2 hatch from this batch of eggs one got the crest and naked neck and this odd comb. The other has a fully feathered neck, no crest, a beard and single comb. Any ideas what's going on with this comb?

if two parent chickens that have different comb types breed, it may result in offspring with a comb that looks like neither of the parent's combs. This comb almost looks like it could be a mix of a pea comb and something else. But who knows what her/his comb will end up looking like!:D Maybe try posting a new thread once it's comb comes in more?
Sure is a cutie pie though, love the naked neck and crest combo.

The comb on your chick is a mix of the single comb and the v-comb of the houdan. That cross will produce birds with a combined comb type, resulting is a split single comb.
I believe @JacinLarkwell is familiar with this phenotype and should be able to give you more information as to what the comb will look like fully grown.

I thought it looked kinda like a pea comb too, but if one parent was single comb and the other is v comb I just didn't see how pea comb could be a possibility.

And thanks, I agree this is a cute chicken for sure! Currently it's 8 weeks old and the comb is still so small. It's very interesting I will update in a month or 2!
