Is it bad to have your chicken by itself?

One chicken by itself?? It would be happier with company----like we people.

living alone is not the way that chickens roll but I have had hens live isolated for months at a time because there were no other chickens in the neighborhood and they.only showed up to visit the roosters when they started to lay again.

that said chickens are only able to recognize about 100 other hens or roosters.

In my opinion that means that they severally limited in the gray matter area.
