hello,i just got an eleven month old serama in the mail yesterday.hes been an inside chicken his whole life.he was raised by a female.well hes been flocking me and my husband all day today.do you think i can get him to stop with time or will it be hopeless?
thanks for any help

I'd give him time to adjust. Flogging is not something I would put up with for long though. Pick him up and carry him around to let him understand who is in control.

ive been doing that all day.i also dont put up with that behavior but hes sooooo cute and i paid alot for him...

no,ive never heard of that.its funny, ive adopted alot of birds from different people and ive never had this problem.

Try it. It's an attitude adjustment, and he just might settle down. Every time he does it, grab him and tote him by his legs for 15 or so minutes. It doesn't hurt them, just takes their control away, and eventually they get it.

Possibly...even probably, but you have to keep working with him. I got sick of my roo and sent him to another farm, but he was 8 pounds...NO WAY I am carrying that nut around all day...lol! Seramas are small though. I would think if he is social, maybe it's just the new place. You just have to assert your dominance and keep it that way. It shouldn't take long, maybe a week tops, but KEEP AT IT!! I wish you all the luck in the world!!
