I find managing a rooster similar to training a dog - let a dog think it's dominant then it's difficult- ditto with a rooster. Its more about the human, than the bird.

You absolutely can not give any indications of nervousness or you will become a target.Thank you for your encouragement, I will work with him. He doesn't do it all the time and I can now tell when he is about to. It's only in the mornings when I open the coop door that he is like this, so I am learning to diverting his attention.
