Wasn’t sure where to post this. It had rained yesterday throughout the night. The run was muddy so I threw down some wood chips and hay so their feet wouldn’t get muddy and let them out to free range in less muddy parts. It rained a TON more last night, and now the whole yard is just standing in water. Their coop is wooden and on a concrete pad, so it’s a little damp in the corners but overall, dry. What should I do? It’s cold too and I don’t want them getting wet and muddy and not able to dry off. The soil has lots of clay too. I also have some chicks in the ‘seeing but not touching’ stange in the run/ coop.

Hi! As long as their coop is nice and dry, I'd just keep them inside until the ground soaks up more of the water. I'm in the same situation. It's been raining for days, and we have lots of clay in the soil, so it takes a while for it to soak up. We still let the chickens out, but most of them go right back inside. You could give them some extra treats to help provide them with something else to do!
