We have 15 chickens. We have a large coop and run. We have shavings on the floor of the coop and in the nesting boxes. We have sand in the run. We have perches inside the coop, but not in the run.

What would you reccommend for the floor of the coop to make for easy cleaning?
What would you reccommend for for the flooring of the run?
Would you reccommend putting perches in the run?

Thanks!

Everyone has their own way of doing things, and just know that there is no one way that is correct for everyone. I like using the deep litter method so that I only have to clean the coup twice a year. I use pine litter for the floor of my coup. I buy it at TSC for about 5-6 dollars a bale/cube. In my run I have sand, which is popular with many of us. It drains well and can be raked out to make it look nice and clean up the poo. I do recommend perches in your run too, although I am guilty of only having one small perch in the corner of my run. It seems like there is always one hen using the pop door as a perch due to the lack of perches. Hope that helps you.
