Picked up recycled gym flooring to replace our gross carpeting with. Planks are one inch thick and solid maple and are going over plywood subfloors. I would rather not use adhesives at all, just nails, due to chemical sensitivities. The tongues and grooves are located roughly midway. All the nail guns I can find say that they are for 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch flooring. Do our planks count as one inch, or would these guns work for them because they aren't an inch thick where the nails will be driven into the tongues? I've heard horror stories of floors being ruined with the wrong nail gun. Anyone on here experienced with flooring who can help? Thanks!
