Well I only use it at night because it get really hot in house and they get hot. Mm well I still trying find one. Having hard time. I am not sure if hatch early because we’re not sure when mama hen start to lay on them so I didn’t now when there were going to hatch.

Also it was night time so it was cool so that’s why they look cool. In daytime the are warm

Make a cave out of the pad so they can go under it, also get some b complex for their neck.

Mm ok, I made cave. I put cardboard shoe boxes and there are old clean socks in there also soft rug for them.

Be careful with the cup of water. A chick can easily drown. Make the heat plate a priority, along with a chick waterer. In the meantime, you could put some marbles or something else in the water that will still allow them to drink, but prevent them from falling in.

Oh yea. I always put rocks in water I never want to find drown chick in water. I put good amount rocks in water that’s are not to small or not to big.

That's a good setup for 3. The heat pad is gonna work temporarily and the brooder plates are a great choice. As for 26 more chicks in that area, it would be super crowded and I wouldn't do it. It's quite small even for like 6 chicks. I recommend putting wood shavings instead of towels and rags because they poop A LOT and the poop is going to stick on there and they will step all over it and it'll be gross. Good luck with your hatch.

Ok. I am using dog pee pad because I heard is best have when first born on dog pee pad or any pee pad then transition to wood shaving when there a little older. Thanks I do hope they all hatch I will be so happy. So far so good I keep getting new baby chicks every few hours or day.

You are correct, E and selenium for wry neck. For selenium, just a little bit of scrambled eggs provides enough of it.

For the E, a whole one is perhaps too much for a little chick, but when I've opened one and mixed part of it with scrambled eggs, they wouldn't eat it. It stinks. Maybe just a drop of E in a little mash (crumbles mixed with water) you could try. If the others get it too, it's okay.

oh ok good to know. I put drop vitamins e into crumble mix with water.

Overall the space is fine for 3 but absolutely not for 26. If all those eggs hatch you'll probably want to plan on having multiple brooders set up to avoid crowding and risk of crushing.

Hard to tell what I'm looking at with all the colors but a
heating pad set up should warm from above, not below.

THAT is a problem. How soon will it take to get a heat plate? Or can you go buy a heating pad without auto shut off?

Mm well having hard time finding one and there little expensive but trying to find one that good prices for heating plate. On a budget so that’s going be hard finding a heating plate that’s for good prices. Mm i think i have another heating pad but i think does same thing i will check. But if can’t I probably wake up every 2-3 hours to make sure is on. I only need heating pad on at night for them because are house is like an oven in daytime but night cooler.

Are the hens/hen hatching these eggs unable to care for them? Can you put a thermometer with them? Baby chicks need a temperature of 95°. What kind of feed are you feeding? I'm not sure what kind of brooder you want. The cheap set up I use it pretty simple. Kiddy pool with heat lamp, and some wire.

If it's quite hot then yes they won't need heat during day time.

It would probably be inconvenient for you but you could do a heating pad in one brooder and a plate in another, if that's what you can afford. Depending on the plate figure it can hold less chicks than what the package says (so if it says good for 20, it's probably more about 12-15 at most). But if let's say you split the 26 into 2 groups of 13, then a plate plus a heating pad (with you getting up as needed) can probably work.
