Floor material?

What is used for the construction for floors? I'm sure most people probably have a wood floor but I wondered if any other material was used for easy cleaning.

My current coop has a wood floor, but I'm in the process of building a coop/tractor with wheels that has a 1x2 welded wire floor. The idea is that the droppings will fall through and it won't need to be cleaned at all.

It's not complete yet and is missing it's wheels but you can see it here

I have a wood floor with linolium over it. Super easy to clean, durable and cheap!

He said, "the wire floor was difficult for us to walk on, and uncomfortable for the hens. A dirt floor is easy to rake out and they "hang out" inside the coop more often."

Does anyone see a problem with concrete and then layered with pine shavings?

I also have a wood floor with linolium nailed to the floor and then use shavings. Very easy cleaning

I have a wooden floor with pond liner over the bottom of it - it makes it much easier to clean.

If you were on a bigger scale then you could do it like pigs - concrete floor with woodshavings / hay as bedding and then clean out with shovel / brush.

I placed rubber floor mats over the wood then wood shavings on top of the floor mats.
