floor of my run

Can Iuse the ground,grass as the floor of my run or should I cover it with some type of bedding? I live in eastern PA

Yes, in the run. But it will quickly become dirt, and if drainage isn't good, mud. Sand is the best. In the coop, wood shavings are best.

Ditto on the run. And great for the coop. I am going to use saw dust,(coarse) in the coop after I use up my shavings. It will be easier to scoop clean. I was going to do sand in the coop as well, but I have a hardwood mill near me that has a great sawdust available for 5 bucks a pick up full.
