Is it necessary to have a floor in my chicken coop, or is it ok to use the ground?

The ground is okay as long as it is dry. Put pine shavings over the ground so you can rake it. Also, make sure no critters can dig under the coops walls, maybe by burying chicken wire all the way around the coop.
