I'm new to this this duck world but received some Muscovy ducks as a gift. They have a brand new 10 x 10 wood coop with a 10 x 20 enclosed run, although they are free range most of the day. My question is how to protect the wood floor from all that moisture they create.

Keep their food and water out of the coop. Make a covered feed area in your run to keep the weather out of their feed. I have Muscovy plus other breeds they can make a big mess. When we built our coop we laid sheet vinyl on all the floors to protect from
Moisture. But I found out real quick not to put water and food inside.

We put linoleum down on top of the wood and about 2 feet up the walls. It's great - a couple times a year I actually scrub and hose off the entire thing.

Definitely keep the food and water outside, too! They'll splash everywhere!

its crazy how a ducks butt is 4 inches off the ground but the poo gets 15 inches off the ground

The linoleum on the floor has worked well. The ducks seem to enjoy ripping it off the walls where I had installed it about 10 " up. I going to redo walls with feed bags. Too difficult for them to rip and will look lovely.

I have linoleum on my floors also. Do you put any bedding down? I have a Rubbermaid that I put pine dust in. I have been wondering if I need to put anything down in the rest of the building?
