Flooring for inside the coop

We used sheet linoleum glued onto plywood floor, one piece also glued 4 ft up the walls so that I could hose out the house if needed. I would suggest no pattern as occasionally my girls will try to "get" the blue diamonds!

I use about 10" pine shavings. Deep bedding.

Moisture never reaches the wood floor.

Replaced about once per year.

Will depend on your chicken density for best results.

We are adding some kind of linoleum or vinyl flooring next time we clean it out! Any suggestions on what kinds?

I went to lowes and picked the cheapest pattern they had it gets covered with shavings anyway

Ya, I don't care what it looks like, wood shavings will just cover it, but did you get linoleum or vinyl?

I went with vinyl I feel like its better made and will last longer. So far it has been awesome I love it!

I have been using vinyl for 4 years now just friction fit it is starting to crack a bit from the cold (-40º Canada) but duct tape is still keeping it together. Does the job. I like the fact I can remove it and hose it off.

Word of advice do not tamper with it in the cold.
Rule of thumb ice in water.
That is how mine cracked.

I made a thread about this same question the other day.

I've made my 10'x10' coop using part of our old deck as the foundation since it was built so strong and the size I wanted already. The floor is wood planks 2'x8' to be exact and they each have about a 1/4" between them. I should've just sheeted the floor to begin with but now it would be a real pain. Instead, I've got some real thick rubberized tarping material (Army surplus) that I'm going to cover the coop floor with. I will prob. use 2 layers of it and then add 8" or so of pine shavings/straw above it. This way, I can remove the whole bit and clean out really good. If I hose of the inside, the water etc. can just drip down thru the cracks. I'll give it a shot and if it doesn't work out, I'll sheet the floor with ply later.
