floppy red combs

does anyone know why some of my bo hens have big red floppy combs and some have almost no comb at all and they are a lighter shade, more pinky. and the pinky no combs are also a lighter color golden than my big shimmery ones. just thinking about it tody. there is a real difference between the older ones. and the ones i ordered from the same hatchery this year. they all ley eggs though.
 
Maturity, age, hormone level, breed all play into the comb size. And when I say Hormone level, don't freak out, every female's hormone levels fluctuate your entire life.
