I created "My Coop" under the old BYC forum and when BYC converted over to their new forum software my Member Page from the old forum format converted over to "My Coop". I believe you have to click on Articles Under Your Recent Activity below your profile and create a Members Page. I'm not swearing to it, but I think that is how to create it.

Brooksville, FL here!! I have 2 RIR and 2 of what I think are EE now. I bought them as Ameraucanas, but apparently they are not. Anyway they are babies still.

I have a question I hope some one can answer for me. We just upgraded to a digital incubator that automatically regulates temperature and has an egg turner. Before I was using the old "Little Giant". That was way too stressful to keep regulated. I'm so excited for this new incubator.

But my question is this; the turner operates every two hours, and it does so by rocking all the way to one diction, then all the way back the other direction, and returns to the middle. And then it repeats it again in another two hours. Is this normal turner operation? I would have thought that it would have moved the eggs all the way in one direction and stayed there, and then in another couple hours gone the other way. Not just rock them at the prescribed time. Will this work the way it is?

Thanks fellow chicken folks!

My cabinet incubator is an older one I have had for several years. Mine turns in one direction and then 2 hours later turns in the other direction. My incubator originally had a wafer thermostat that we converted over to electronic. It holds the temperature perfect.

I'm looking for a show Ancona/magpie. Near central Florida would be better but willing to travel. Does anyone know where I could get a show quality one for fair. Thanks :)
