FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

Can someone please tell me what type of chicken this is? I bought them from someone in Middleburg and he told me it was an Australorp (what I wanted) but all the baby chick pictures I've seen look nothing like this one.

I had gotten some RIR birds several years ago at a show from a fellow who told me they were the Reese line. The only problem I had with them is their backs were too narrow especially towards the tail. I did sell them all and then got birds from Matt. I am very happy with them. Each year I get a new cockerel from him to put with some of my breeder girls. I am picking and choosing which females go with which males. I may never have exactly what Matt has but each year my birds get better and better. I sent Bob a picture of a chick I thought looked great and Bob told me to name him Hollywood because he thought the chick had very good potential and the things he liked about him. Sadly Hollywood was killed by a predator. My pens and coops were pretty predator proof much more now. I haven't lost a bird to a predator in a very long time. I respected Bobs opinions. I read a story about a very nice bird Bob once had and he had named him Hollywood.

I leg band all of the birds. I mostly have Rose Comb and Single Comb Rhode Island Reds and Rose Comb Rhode Island Whites and some Single Comb Rhode Island Whites for my Red Sex-Links. I tried breeding a RC RIR to RC RIW's and the chicks I thought would be male turned out to be females and are excellent layers.I gave all the chicks away and I thought the white chicks would be males and kept 2 for the freezer. They turned out to be female. I may try again. and this time keep all of the chicks

These are also some of my RC RIR pullets.

Quote: I am trying very hard to keep them pure. I'll do a test hatch first. I just want to make sure I have good fertility before I send any eggs. I replacing chicken wire with welded wire so when I empty a pen I'm replacing the wire.
