FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

My hens love to play in the water, when I'm cleaning their water container out. I will try wetting the ground for them and see if they like that. I know they don't like the rain. Thanks for your help.

All of my coops have auto waterers. Most of the day they are shaded. It's not bad when you have a few birds to take care of but when you have a lot of birds, it's much more labor intensive.
Gessssh! With as many birds as you have, you kind of HAVE to find ways to knock back the labor! My head's spinning thinking of tending to as many as what you got.

On that point;
WHAT the heck and slap me hard! What's wrong with me I can't say no to an animal?? My daughter informed us Friday she was done with the guinea pig she begged and pleaded with us to allow her to have. Kept on us like a dog on a bone. 2 weeks later, she's done. We said on Friday she needed to say her byes to it cause when she got back from her memorial day weekend sleep over...it was going to be gone. Wifey went mater picking Saturday and when she got back she asked if there was no takers from the craigslist ad I posted. I said
"well hon I was thinking how unfair it all this for the pig. This'd be it's 3 home if we put it up on craigslist. I'll take it over."
So...let's see now...2 hound dogs, 3 cats, 5 chickens, a lizard of some sort ( my son's NOT mine, I don't even look at that thing ) and a tank full up of fish. Add one guinea pig name a Daisy.
You'd think I wouldn't want more but...there's a duck or 2 out there somewheres with my name on them. Maybe a donkey. We need to move to the country and get a bit of land....
and rabbits...

Photos of Daisy to follow....

Jeanie ( light sussex ) loves to play in the water I slosh out when I'm changing out water bowls...one of her babies is starting to take her lead on that too!

So...by name...we're officially a farm..haha. Here's our "pig" (I say, I say, guinea, that is, son -Fog Horn Leg Horn voice over ) being inspected by our big black baby dog. (90 lbs rottie/catahoula/boxer mix)

Oh waiter, there's a rodent in my hat

Daisy peek a booing

I know they don't do heat all that well but does anyone know if I can bring this little girl outside with me on cool mornings?

it's so cute! I don't know the tolerance for heat or outside for those little guys unfortunately. We are right there with you. City life with a country heart - 2 dogs, 4 chickens (was 11 but had to re home the Roos), 2 hermit crabs and a new bunny. We will be moving up to TN in about 4 yrs and living on at least 20 acres so we can live the way we want!

Ain't she though? she loves to be covered in your lap and borrow around. Real cuddler. cuddle..ish. cuddle..y? You get my meaning. We got our move narrowed down to 2 possibles after our youngest finishes high school in 4 years. Cherokee NC ( not the touristy Casino area, neither ) or the outskirts of Canon City, Colorado. Our dream is enough acreage to have as many chickens as we d___ well please INCLUDING roos, at least 1 donkey, couple cows, couple goats, at least 4 hogs, 4 horses an above ground pool with tilapia and all our pets we got now...Hi my names Noah. haha It's our plan/dream to have the starting set up for us to be self sustaining. Ah, dream...crossing my fingers we have it come true!

It sounds like you have your hands full of all different kinds of animals. When do you have time to sleep?? I just have chickens and tropical fish.

Years ago I put pans out with cool water in them in each pen. The birds loved to stand in the pans.

I'm going to try a couple of pans and see if they will use them. I never thought, I would enjoy taking care of chickens. They are so cute and I have so much fun taking photos of them. Everyone has their own personally and I just love them.
