In my opinion and experience it will probably be hard to sell him sometimes they are hard to even give away. If you were to sell him i would recommend 3 to 5 dollars as a asking price. The only roos I've learned that are easy to sell are big breed full grown as people want them for a pot and ready to breed rare breed roos. I am getting ready to offer a bunch of cream legbar and a couple sizzle roos for free for 4h kids that might want them to show.
I'm not sure Sizzles are recognized in the 4h and ffa show world yet? I know standard cochin frizzles are and silkies. Hybrids (such as the sizzle) in most county's were kicked out as they were not recognized as purebreds by the APA yet. If they allow them in the shows, fantastic! I wish they would and just have a Hybrids class :)

Great idea on the 4h I tend to sell my pures to the 4H and FFA kids too so they can bring home the ribbons!

I have a silkie cockerel that I need to find a new home for. He is currently 5 1/2 weeks old. I was going to take him to TSC on the Saturday they do a little swap meet. I need opinions on selling. Will people buy a silkie cockerel? I was hoping to get a little back to help with food expense. Also if I can sell, about how much should I ask? Thanks in advance

I would try selling the cutie at the TSC swap for $10 or trade. If you have no success you can advertise on Craig's and use the tags "4h" and "ffa" "project" etc in your post so the kids and parents can find your cute roo! :) best of luck with his rehome!

I'm not sure i know one of my customers used sizzle last year for 4h but I'm not sure how the rules are. I think she listed them as frizzle silkie
