Oh wow!!!!! I mentioned that when one of our Hens (once they are hens) go broody I would want to buy fertile eggs...and my wife gave me the look of death!!! I think If I come home with a bator I would have to sleep in the coop!!! lol

This is Peepcrazee in Lehigh Acres. FL..we are in the heat of the battle here in Lee County over the issue of backyard chickens... we have 1 out 5 commissioners support and have started a petition to get the ordinances changed....we have over 100 signatures just since last Friday....

If anyone has any support/advice they can share, it would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks to all my chicken friends in Sunny Florida!!!!

wish we had some of that rain, just got the high winds. At least it cooled it off some. Thermometer on screened back porch read 100. Drought killing tree shading chicken yard, poor birdies sweating like crazy. Still looking for coon trap to borrow. That devil gets into pen at night, but can't get into coop.

PeepCrazee, I wish you great success with your efforts. I know there are folks in Lake Worth and also Port St Lucie who have started Facebook pages for their own causes, you should start one for your community. Then you all can network & share with each other, as well as attract lots of friends to join your group. It's an amazing new tool for communication. I myself am just learning about it, but I know a lot of others have used it well to broadcast information about their cause.

Let us know when you start it so we can be your FB friends.

Great safe home in tampa bay area florida with brand new chicken / duck house and sparkling kiddie pool in need of a female duck. not picky on age or breed just has to be healthy and a female

Clyde , our 1 year old crested pekin , our only duck....he is lonely & frustrated that the whole inter-species , chicken n duck lovin' just isnt working out for him

If i cannot find a fellow BYC'r with a female does anybody know of a good place to get one healthy female duck in florida.. i could go to my local feed store but all they have is unsexed ducklings.
plus i would rather she be a bit older , as she would be lonely in a brooder by herself.
