It depends on the breed of duck for the length of time for incubation right? I know Muscovy are like 35 but my Rouens were 25. I don't know about others because those are the only kind I've hatched

All ducks except Muscovy are the same. Muscovy are 35 days total incubation. Most standard breeds are fairly simple, call ducklings are tricky to get to hatch.

This is the best Hatching Chart to reference

Updated the timeline, forgot I was talking ducks and gave the chicken recipe lol

I really like cayugas so I might try that. Why are calls so hard to hatch?

I love this site, I learn so much! Are there benefits to eating fertile eggs? I have a friend who buys them... the idea of it is gross to me. I am not a farmer, I'm an aspiring one

Also, do you guys refridgerate your eggs? They retain more vitamins if you don't- & don't wash them, either. That washes off the natural protective layer that helps keep it fresh. Called the bloom.
Mother Earth News did a study & apparently eggs stay fresh for six months unrefrigerated! For some reason you have to turn them upside down monthly, but that's it. Obviously keep them in a darker/ cooler place, as well.

Because of the tiny bills they have a harder time turning and getting pipped and out. They are going to make me bald with worry. LoL love them all dearly though. We now have white, blue fawn, grey, blue fawn pied, and grey pied all great quality breeding stock. On the hunt for butterscotch now.

As far as our chicken eggs, we collect daily, we have roosters, the eggs sit Sun-Wed and then are washed and put away in cartons in the fridge. They are then collected daily Thur-Sat and washed Sat and put in cartons and into the fridge. Makes life easier for me with this routine.
