People buy coons? What for...are you joking? Although my youngest daughter is dreaming of revenge, when/if we catch anything I'll take it way out into the Everglades and release it. I grew up in a hunting family, but I can't harm any creature. Last week I caught a water moccasin in the backyard and took it out to a more suitable habitat...there's a time and place for everything.

Thanks Nava. Even my neighbors have been over to offer their condolences...Goosedown was everyone's favorite. We figure she went down protecting her Muscovy friends. I'll post a photo if I can get my tech-savvy teenager to help me.

So far that I know of only blacks buy them to eat.Around here they are sold for $15 a piece.I got someone that buy all the coons I catch.Just hve to be careful cause coons are rabid.Very dangurus animal.Sorry about the countryboy spelling.

Yes, only my uncle is about as white a man as you will find! He is in fact the only white person I know of who eats coon....or maybe he's the only one who will admit it????
ETA: I just don't think I have ever been that hungry...and if I had (which I suspect was his issue growing up) I would vow never to have to eat one again.
