FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

Thanks! I ordered some from Amazon yesterday... Good news is that some of the ones that were looking ill yesterday seem to be doing better today. Maybe they are on the mend, building immunity on their own. Fingers crossed

I feel so bad for you! My place is pretty wet now and after following your horror story, I'm worried about my little ones.

I know this may sound harsh to many, but I would cull all of the chicks, and any unwanted roosters too. To keep them, treat them and possibly sell or give them away could spread it to someone else unsuspectingly. Culling and cleaning effectively afterwards, then starting over. I know it sounds harsh, but sometimes its the best option when you are struggling to get ahead of it like this.
First state quoted below, you can find Amprolium (Amprol) for sale here: http://www.firststatevetsupply.com/store/index.php?cPath=21_29
Very interesting article, Celtic. I learned a lot. I did not know that there needed to be repeated exposure. I agree with you that it would be best to cull the chicks. I think a seller could quickly loose their reputation selling birds that do not have a strong immune system. I want only the strongest of my chicks in the flock, but I sure don't want to introduce problems from outside. Dumb question I know, but can cocci be transmitted through eggs?

Wanted to show off my broody's new babies. Question....these eggs were from a friend who has real Ameraucanas, but she wasn't breeding them, so the different colors of roosters were free ranging with different colors of hens. Two of the chicks are not marked like a traditional Ameraucana (see above). Are they Easter Eggers or Ameraucanas?

I think they are cute as they can be no matter what. I can't wait to see what they look like when they feather out.

PlantCity, glad you enjoyed the read. I try and share bits like that when I find them. Always fun to read and learn.

Very cute chicks! Yes if it was a mix of colors together the chicks will be EE's because they dont conform to the standard colors set by the APA for accepted colors for the breed. Its just like Lavender is not accepted (just a project color) and since the APA doesnt like the color name Lavender they will be very hard to get accepted. So they are EE's in a way as well since they arent an accepted color. Either way they make for a colorful flock.

We have over 20 goslings growing out right now. Everything from a few days old to 3-4 months old now.

Celtic Oaks Farm: Love your geese. I'm working on getting someone to make a duck habitat out of the first fish pond. Finally found someone to do it. Now all I gotta do is come up with the cash. LOL
Well well well,Here I go again.I'm still at it and my chickens are growing fast.Plus my silkie has just hatched out 8 little ones and all doing good but I think I'll move them to a pen I build with mesh on bottom and let them run around in there with their mommy.Only reason I'm moving them is so they don't get trampped by the other birds.NO geese or ducks for me. To easy for something to grab them since they are not as fast as chickens. And where I live and the wildlife here they would get eaten really fast.FuzzyButt you should try and come out.I just got done building a hog trap 4x8 alot of welding .But it is well worth it.So far I have got 2 big hogs caught in it.The weight of the hogs were 187lbs. & 213lbs. Couldn't find any help at the time I needed to get them out and hogs cannot stay in the sun because they don't have sweat glands like us so thats why you will never find feral hogs far from a watering hole.

I have a little sick chick. As soon as I noticed, I separated it from the rest. It's butt is wet. I clean off the wet poo but more comes. It appears it is missing feathers from its rump, but it may look like that because it is wet. I've started it on tetracycline. Any ideas what may be wrong?
