ours go into lock-down tonight at midnight.
We're not hopeful because the candling hasn't shown us much in those dark brown eggs.

How is the hatch going... I just candled mine and i'm pretty excited but it's only day 13 for me.
Although you can't see details you can see if the egg is full or not, if it's all black when you do
lockdown you are probably in good shape.... Good Luck!!!!!

I am in central Florida too! Do you have BCM chicks for sale on a regular basis? I want to start some. How much are they and how dark are the eggs? Thanks!

We just put our first batch of our Wheaten Marans in the incubator this morning!

Well that post was 18 days ago and we're in lock-down.
I'm not very hopeful though, the eggs aren't showing much on candling and the daddy roo got sick and died so he might of had some fertility issues. We're going through the motions anyway just in case.

We've just begun our fight here in Escambia County. The Count Board of Commissioners dropped the topic from their agenda tonight after they realized there was more support in favor of allowing chickens than they thought. If they hadn't, the moratorium on the existing ordnance would have been lifted, which would have turned our county chickens into felonious fowls over night.

I am not sure if this is where I need to post this or not. I am new here, I am sure that you can tell. I live in Ohio, but will be moving back to Florida hopefully in the next year or so. I am new to chickens as having them myself. I raised and bred finches, I still have a few, but the flock is much smaller than it used to be. I am here to learn as much as I can about raising chickens before I get moved. I have wanted chickens for years and hope to make that dream come true when I get moved back. I have been doing a lot of reading and love this site. I have learned so much! By the time I get moved back I will have it all planned out. I hope.
