FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

I think my chickens like the rain.

It has poured the last two days and even though they have several places to go, all of them are pitiful looking - completely water logged.

Maybe they enjoy the cooling effect of playing in the rain!
Ok atleast mine are not alone lol my rooster was sooo wet from the rain his tail feathers were dragging on the ground . i guess with how hot its been your right about wanting to cool off .... gotta love chickens lol

i have a chicken when i bought it they said Rhode island red but i think it might be something else here are her pictures.... ill get more better ones when i went out there today my batteries died lol she is a very shiny pretty red and i can see all her little feathers

She is a hatchery quality RIR, not a heritage RIR. These are also called Production Reds or Cherry Eggers sometimes. She looks alot like my hen Lucy, who was sold to me as a RIR also. She's very pretty!

We finally got the coop done (or as done as it is going to get for today) and got ourselves 6 new peeps! Wooohooo We are Poultry Parents!

We got:
2 Barred Rock
2 Buff Orpingtons
2 Easter Eggers

All are 9-10 weeks old

And YES the walls of the coop are Pink! We tell everyone that the girls support breast cancer research... but the truth is, Lowes had 1/2 price oops paint :D

Grats!!! I bet you guys are sooo happy!

I have a wheezy chicken. She is about 4 months old, easter egger. I got her 2 weeks ago. I have gotten all of my chickens from the same breeder. She doesn't have any discharge and she is eating/drinking/being a chicken. Thoughts? None of the other chickens sound like this that I have heard. This is a new flock.. I have had them about 5 months.

We lost one LF black cochin to unknown causes the other night (no disxarge, no wounds, nothing got in the pen and she was fine as of 8 pm one noight, gone by 7 am the next day) and now have a barred lf cochin going downhill. Won't eat or drink, sleeping all the time, stands when we go near but doesn't open her eyes. We are at a loss. Can't find anything wrong and our other birds are fine. :(
