. Yes, I would expect odd behavior from these six, because they never made it into a regular coop. I would make it seem like it was getting dark by turning off the lights one by one until just the TV was on. Each time I turned off a light, they would scream bloody murder, so I would wait until they were quiet and then turn off the next light and so on. I'm usually up quite late either on the computer or laying in bed watching TV. If they couldn't see movement when I was laying down, they'd get all anxious and start screaming again. So, I would slide down in bed so they could at least see my feet and I would wiggle my feet and they would quiet down. If they only saw my feet with no movement, I guess they thought I was dead, so I really had to wiggle my feet to quiet them.
I am so glad they are with you now, so they can start a routine to become "normal" chickens. I must say, though, if I went to sleep at 4:00am, they wouldn't wake me up until 10am or so
