Oh, love your brooder box!
We got a used rabbit hutch and I thought it would make a good broody hutch. I think the roof coming off would be better than a front door though. It would be easier to clean, and to move a grumpy hen about that way.

I agree, the spring and early summer is when the birds go broody usually and some breeds such as BO's tend to be more broody than others. If a gal gets in a nest box and stays in it she is usually broody. I made a brooder for my broody to hatch in. Some times I have moved a broody to the brooder and she quit after I moved her and some keep on being broody.

I have a 4 1/2 month old Barred Rock roo (from feed store) that I need to re-home. Is there a FL only site to find him a home/sell him?

He is being terrorized by one of my guineas. Oh, yeah, white male guinea, same age as the roo, for sale also! LOL
