FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

Hello!

I frequent this site for information but have not really contributed/posted in many threads.

We are in North Florida (Lake City area, technically McAlpin) and have had chickens the past 3 years or so.

We've owned Cream Legbars, White Bresse, French Black Copper Marans, Wheaten Ameraucanas, Silkies, Bielefelders, Svart Hona (Swedish Black Hen) and Ayam Cemani

Wow, seems like a lot now that it's typed out! We currently focus on Bielefelders as they are our favorite breed we've ever had. However, we also just started back up with French Black Copper Marans (We got our stock from Greenfire Farms who just recently imported and started to sell their BCMs and we also have some from Little Peddler) We are currently building up our flock of Ayam Cemani and Swedish Black Hens. All of our Cemani, Swedish Black, and Bielefelders were purchased directly through Greenfire, as well as majority of our BCM's, we opted for farm pick up as we are only an hour and a half from there.

I don't know why I waited so long to get on here and talk chickens, or what else to say in this introduction, but I'm excited to be involved now! :)

If anyone has a pair of white call ducks for sale pm me i can stop by the show this Saturday

@FeelsRightFarm nice to see you over here on the FL thread! You have some amazing breeds. If you feel like it, it would be nice to see some pictures.

Do you ever sell chicks?

Do you ever sell chicks?

We do! Right now all we really have to offer are Bielefelder chicks, as they are the only breed we have that are currently laying on a consistent basis. Our Swedish Black Hen lays pretty well, about 5 eggs a week on a good week, but sometimes she takes the week off

so we only get a few at a time, we are working on building up our flock of those so we've been growing out quite a few. Currently we have 11 Swedish Black hens at different ages and 8 Cemani. The Cemani hen is a total diva. From what I hear the cemani have a very strange laying cycle, which is part of what makes them more rare. She would lay 5 eggs a week one week, then two the next, then we'd get no eggs for a month or so and then she'd start again. She is currently on a break it seems so we haven't tried to sell those breeds as it's just so sporadic at the moment.

We have more bielefelder hens that should start laying in a couple months and our BCM's should be starting here pretty soon as well, we are very anxious to start hatching them. Currently we have between 7-10 BCM hens and probably the same amount of roos (we have to get our numbers down but it's hard to tell what roo's are best at the moment!)

Feel free to PM me if you ever want any chicks, we are more than happy to meet up/sell when they hatch. Especially the bielefelders as we have all we need at moment, so anything we hatch we try to sell :)

Some of our Bielefelders

Our little Wheaten Ameraucana hen (recently widowed unfortunately as her fella was unfortunately killed by an owl :'( so now she is a lonely girl)

Little Swedish Black Hens

Our Swedish Black Hen pair
This photo doesn't show how beautiful they really are, as the lighting isn't as good in the coop and this was a rainy day :(

Our Ayam Cemani pair

I need to get some better photos of them now that the weather has been so nice

This is getting a little picture heavy so I won't post many more, but here is one of our Swedish Black "teenagers" that is super sweet
