Hello all, we are looking to move near Panama City soon from Tn. A little nervous about restrictions and stuff, we have 4 roosters and 11 hens, someone told me I could only have 8 chickens in most counties. We love our birds and build them there own private building with small neat runs around it not an eye sore and they aren't loud. Nice to see so many chicken lovers in Florida.

to the Florida thread. I don't know what the regulations are in the area you are planning to move to but where I'm at there are areas that allow only a certain number of birds and in many of the areas no roosters are allowed. I live in a rural area where there is no limit on birds. I have had upwards of around 400 birds. Currently I have around 200. I have 15 males. They aren't really noisy either. When they see us out they may start crowing but they are looking for treats and they are trying to get our attention. Luckily my neighbors aren't too close. They have told me they can hear my boys sometimes if the wind is in the right direction but they aren't bothered by them. good luck and have fun...

We have a BYC Florida members page arranged by the counties. Scroll to your county and there is a list of BYC members in your county. You may be able to PM a member and ask what the regulations are in the area you are planning on moving to. https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/florida-always-sunny-side-up
