FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

Thanks for the lift folks, I had hoped to get down there over holidays to escape cold, guess I'm not missing any beautiful weather!

I think I'll throw some old sleeping bags and tarps over my coop tonight. I know everyone says the birds will be fine, but they are no more used to this cold than I am, and my coop is built to stay cool, not warm. Anything else anyone is doing to keep a florida coop a little warmer?

I put some tarps around it to block some of the wind, it's going to be a cold one tonight brrrr

I had already wrapped all but the front of the pen in plastic so now I closed off the inside wall so they will be enclosed in a plastic coop of sorts. There should still be plenty of ventilation but the wind should not whip through. I worry about the extreme temp changes here also. By Thurs we are supposed to see 6o's or better. I hate cold! (did I mention that before!)

Yep, mine is now wrapped in a tarp and several sheets. Don't think my coop could get much more getto looking at this point.

It's a good thing it's in the back yard where only a few neighbors see it. It's quite the eye sore, but hopefully the birds will stay warm enough. I can't believe how windy it is!!! Brrrrrr......

It sure isn't feeling very "SUNNY" side up lately !

I think I am going to lose my garden crops this time around. It is too windy for the plastic and lights that I used before.

I gave the chickies a heat lamp tonight - - - burr it is just too windy and cold.

My husband is amazed that I havent brought mine in...although I do have two in chicken hospital in the hobby room...although they are not my chickens...so that doesn't count then.

Don't let the non-Florida people see that, Math Ace!!!! They'll make fun of us! They just don't understand - our coops - and our chickens - and us - we are built for the heat. Warmth. Sun. Not for this *&$^*!!
