Aww, thanks Sunny Side up! I hate you are so far, just looked it up on mapquest and you are not as far as I thought...about 2 hours. Although with the price of gas and my HUGE van I don't know if it would be practical, although most appreciated. I will talk to my hubby and see what he thinks.

There you go, Sunny Side Up - 'cause it wasn't me! My mom could probably show us, but I really don't have the facilities for it here in the city.

LOL, I am in the city too Chics,but determined to try it at least once more to see if having the right equipment makes a difference and doesn't traumatize me so much. It was much harder emotionally than I thought it would be. I <3 BYC and all the wonderful people I have met here! You are all awesome.

My goats come from Grant and are fainters. We love them because they don't climb the fence andvare less likely to escape.

Good to know they have improved things at Funky. When we went it was so dirty and smelly, everything it shouldn't have been.

do you know anything about Nigerian dwarfs Jessica?? They look very small, easily managed and not too fiesty. Is there a place in Grant that sells Nigerian Dwarfs? I found the donkey love ranch and they have a good variety, but not sure if you got yours somewhere else.

Hey I am a Floridian now! Moved in June of last year. Unfortunately have no chickens BUT there are lots of oppertunities to get a home in the country. I will have my birds again.. But for now I will just be reading the forum and imaginarily petting all the chooks and quailies and ducklings I see in pics...

Welcome all! They have a hen hoiuse at Trads Greenhouse in Jacksonville FL! How wonderful! It's a nice setup and kids can feed the chickens vegetables/greens. Pretty cool. I got off the beaten path today a little bit and there are some nice homes with mature trees and a little land out there.

Say how common is it to find an alligator in your yard if you are by a small river or creek? I'm new to FL.

I have nigi's here at my house. they are smaller than my rott/shepard doggie. They don't require alot of space to keep & the food is minimal. they have the best feed to milk ratio of any goat & their milk is sweet. I have never milked mine but have 2 preggo.....
I love my 2 does & my buck weezy who is a complete love bucket. They just keep chewing my clothes...hahahah
I give them feed in the morning & free choice hay. I also mix in some minerals for them.
