Anybody going to the swaps this weekend (Ocala, Jax) selling white eating eggs. Grandkids want to dye Easter Eggs but are allergic to store bought. This is the first year I dont have any white egg layers. Please PM me if you have any Thanks Micki

Hey Nava! Egg laid in car (BO) is turning out to be a real good rooster to the girls. He even herds the straglers into the coop before he goes to roost. Drops his treats for the girls. I tried 3 other roos prior to him, and they weren't that great-plain rapists, LOL. Just think. I brought his mom home for the neighbor, she laid an egg in the car, I put the egg in the fridge. Later that evening I asked Nava if it was fertile, she said yes, and off to the bator he went. As a cockerel I nearly lost him to coccidiosis, he was spewing blood out his vent, and was a bit stunted in growth for months after that. But he caught up and is a real gentleman now. I was going to rehome him last year, but I don't know why I kept him. Glad I did. Named him Clarence.

This one looks much better than the one the did today. The one this morning just felt kind of demeaning like they thought of us as "crazy chicken people"

I wasn't pleased with the one I saw this morning. Sorry

<---- I'm in Orlando and new to BYC. I don't have any birds yet but my gf and I are buying are first home and will have them soon. Can anyone offer any advice of chicken keeping in Orlando? we are in East Orlando, Waterford Lakes specifically, and I think we're going to have to camoflauge them pretty well. Our roommate, who will be moving with us, her parents have a farm out in Titusville so we have a back-up plan if we get in trouble or have to rehome them. Just wondering if anyone keeps chickens in this area or close by and how they do it. Thanks!!

Not sure about that exact neighborhood, but lots of chickens in the Orlando area. I am on Merritt Island myelf with all of our ducks and chickens. What breed are you hoping to have, how many? Is your new backyard fenced? Privacy fences help keep the girls visually hidden if you keep wings clipped.

Hey everyone... I have 3 EE/Leghorn/Cochin mixes that need homes. They are 3 almost 4 weeks old. I am pretty certain 2 are boys but the third is still questionable (BIG SWEET white EE/Cochin)

Please let me know if you or anyone else might be interested in giving them a place to live. I am OK with the possibility that they might be "dinner" some day as I know that one can only have so many Roo's per farm but I can't have ANY here.

I would like to give them a nice place to live ASAP. At this point, they are free to whomever will take them although they are very healthy and personable and I was asking $3.00 each.

Thanks!

There is a chicken show every year in Orlando around October. . ..

That would be a great time to make some connections for buying chickens ( IF you can wait that long).

If you find a breeder you want chickens from who is going to attend the show. . . . they normally don't mind reserving or bringing chicks to the show just for you. . .

Let me know if you are interested. I should have Lt. and Dark Brahmas, Blue Laced Red Wyandottes, BBS Wheaten Marans and Silkies.
