I swore I was never hatching again, only buying what breeds, sexed already that I wanted. Then we got into ducks, then I wanted to have more of these exotic ducks but wanted to not have the expense of shipping adults sooooo lol back to hatching again. This after I sold off my bator and brooder this year. Now I have 3 new Brinsea bators and building brooders in my nursery building this weekend.

addictive doesn't describe it well enough. lol

I had no idea. I have been wanting to move to Gulfport and knew it was chicken friendly. I don't think the county should be able to over ride that. If I lived in Pinellas I'd sign the petition.

I'd like some polish chicks. And some seramas. Not ready quite yet though.

okay everyone, new hens not adapting well DH already says they have to go or go into stew pot. Anyone want to trade brown egg laying hens for 2 Golden Lakenvelders and 2 Sicilian Buttercups. Beautiful chickens, just too use to total free range and their small little group.

I know they are gorgeous, 4-5 lbs and only 1 laid today and that was in neighbors side yard. John is furious, says he won't have them teaching our girls bad habits. Found gardens and front yard immediately.

Neighbor told them she has a dumpling with their name on it. Can't catch them to put them back in pen so having to take turns herding them away from gardens.

Somebody please want these pretty girls.

No, it is just unincoorporated Pinellas - the rules there have no bearing on most of Gulfport, St.Pete, ect., unless your property just happens to fall in an unincoorporated zone. Which I didn't even know that could happen.....

He took 3/4 of the IV last night, is eating well today so we are doing another B injection and IV fluids to keep him perking up. Spent an hour on the phone with the breeder (she is in Grant) and my Uncle (a vet) to make sure I was following protocol. He gets to sleep at the house for a few more days/nights then we will reevaluate how he is and if he join the others.

Sorry the new girls aren't working out, try shakin some feed or scratch in a can at night to get their attention to return to th coop. Remember they are in a new home, so they have to adjust. Bantams (at least around here) seem to have a stubborn streak lol. Hope hey settle in or you find them a new home.
