FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

Her DH has his own ways 'O tamin' a bad rooster! He told me about it. If it doesn't work out, he can still eat him. DD was too scared of him to bring him back home. I didn't meet you there, Stan, did you show up? I got an Appenzellar Spitzersomethin'ornuther Roo. He's scared of me and the hens right now. So cute tho!

Sorry we missed the swap, but I had to do the work thing. If I could figure out how to do it, I'd just kick the working habit!! Glad you met some folks and got a roo. I sure hope this one works out. After you go through a couple, you start to think that all of them are bad boys and want to give up on them. When you get a good one, they are worth their weight in gold, and there are a lot of good ones around. Just have to find the right lines. .....Congrats on your find. Maybe next time we'll be able to make it. We have only been to one, and that was as customers!! HA. ..........stan

We picked up a pair of tiny seramas at the swap for my daughter, already got our first little egg! Thank you seller! She LOVES them, jokes that I have "pulled" her into this chicken addiction!

Hi everyone! My name is Carla and I live in NE Florida (Green Cove Springs). My husband I have just recently (July) built our coop and we now have 3 Dominques that are laying and 3 Americaunas still pullets. I love having chickens for the first time ever. I can't wait till my newest girls start laying too. I am new to this thread and anxious to learn so much more about them. I have read several threads on BYC and learned so much already. I hope to make some new friends on this thread...

I just rehomed my spare roo the other day and was sad to see him go but I've noticed how much happier his two girls are now that he's out of the picture. They're mingling with the flock and coming for treats and generally acting like normal happy chickens. He had been keeping them isolated and stalking the other roosters girls. Everyone is happy now and the crowing has been cut in half!

I am trying to rehome a few cockerels now. One is crowing already and the others should be crowing soon. The senior rooster.... My first rooster. .. . One of my favorite roosters .... CROWS the MOST. He crows more NOW than he ever di. I think it is because there are so many other roosters around NOW.

He really is driving me crazy with all the crowing, BUT he is so kind and gentle and listens so well. PLUS he makes some super nice looking babies.
