Hmmm...tempting...And just to clarify- I'm only looking to rehome Big Red (the rooster), not the hens (they just started laying...Big Red was SUPPOSED to be a girl too...lol)...If I can't find a home closer, I may be in contact with you!

I have 15 hens of different breeds and all my birds are free range.

O no!! I hope this was not one from us, that I said, was supposed to be a pullet?? I hope you find a great home, for Mr. Big Red.

No, Melody, it wasn't one of the birds from you! I got a gold laced cochin (that just started laying...yay!) and 2 of the silkie/polish mixes...to be honest, I can't tell if either of those are a roo or not, but they're so small and docile, it doesn't matter...neither has crowed yet!

I got 3 RIR "pullets" from a couple in the Riverview area (I think) shortly after the St. Pete swap...from the beginning, I thought Big Red *may* be a he, but got him anyways...newbie mistake...derr!!! And like I said- he's not going anywhere unless the perfect pet home comes along...maybe I can just bribe my neighbors with fresh eggs...hmmm

Oh, and Melody- I'm ready for a few more hens....when my BF asked me to move the RIRs back to my house because of Big Red, I moved the 3 I got from you to his house, so they could have a nicer pen and coop that he built

Told him I'd move the RIRs back, but he needed to know I was getting more cochins or something, to "fill the space" in the 10x10x6 pen with a coop inside...that coop is entirely too big for 3 small birds

So, do you have any pullets available? Looking for some that are a little older, maybe close to laying age...let me know! Oh, and if anyone else in the Tampa Bay area reads this and has birds available, I'm specifically looking for white leghorns, EE or Ameraucanas, and possibly more cochins (because they're so dang sweet!)...BUT I may be persuaded to look at other breeds...lol...chicken math...I get it now!!!

I don't have any laying age LF GL Cochin pullets. We did keep 2 pullets, that are the exact same age as yours...but we have them in the breeding pen, and patiently waiting, for that first egg.

We just posted new pics of them, on our FB, under the GL Cochin album.

I do have about 7 GL chicks, that are between 2 days, and a week of age. But as you know...it's a LONG wait, for them to mature.

I tend to sell all of my extra chicks, as soon as I hatch them....so, I don't have any older chicks, on hand. We are also selling out of most of our LF Breeds, and switching to bantams.
Don't worry, we will be keeping our GL Cochins, and Speckled Sussex. Those will be about our only LF breeds.

But Andrea, if you really want a rooster that crows, loud enough to get the neighbors 5 doors down, to complain....I'm selling these 2 Brahma roos.
