FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

Hello all,
haven't been able to post as much since my home 'puter is down. I butchered 4 big roos and 3 bantams on Labor Day, it gets easier & faster each time. Still willing to tutor any BYCer wanting to learn. Then you'll never ever have to wonder what to do with your extra roos.

I am sorry about the silkie that drowned, of course Murphy's Law of Chicken Depredation rules that it's always your favorite bird that gets it. Poor lil' thing.

And I'm reallyreallyreally sorry about the gone goose! We seem to love our 6 Embden geese the most, and know we'd be devastated if something like that happened to any of them. But I wonder if it was really a raccoon, perhaps it was something bigger like a coyote or bobcat. Have you posted on the Predators section of the forum about it?

I set my traps with the bait underneath. There are lots of fire ants in our yard so I have to put the can of bait in a little bowl of water, so there's a moat around the can. I dig a hollow in the ground to fit the bowl, and set the trap on top. Then I place a cinder block on top to weigh it down, so the trap doesn't tip over.

I also try to camouflage the trap by placing branches or brush over & around it. I'll even cover the wire bottom with sand, especially around the front -- but not enough to keep the door from snapping firmly shut. For bait I use smelly canned cat food or sardines in oil. I wish you success in trapping the culprit!

Everyone in Florida has had a problem with either racoon or Bobcat But catching them is really kinda easy if you can do it right. And SunnySideUp has a good setup the way he has explained. But I have caught abut 5 bobcats & about 20 or more coons.Size of trap has alot to do with it to cause if your trap is to small you will never catch what your after. In Florida you are aloud to protect your live stock in any means per FWC.And if it's an endangered species I'm almost positive you have to call FWC and let hem handle it unless told different. But in that case I would get that call recorded with his/her name & badge no.# That is to protect you from any court hearings.

Hi my fellow Floridians! I live in SW Ocala on a Paso Fino Horse Farm. I am also raising a small flock of beautiful Cochin Bantams. I have to get some pictures posted but I wanted to let everyone know that I have 3 gorgeous 5 month old cockerels that I would like to find homes for. Can you believe out of the 4 eggs that hatched 3 of them are boys

Anyway they are perfect for a 4-H'er as they are not agressive at all and I have seen some at the Florida State Fair that are not nearly as nice as mine which sell for a good price. Please contact me at [email protected]

Here are some photos taken of them about 2 weeks ago...they are even prettier today. I will sell one of them as a pair with one of my laying hens.

Colombian. I have one mare that is registered in P.R. that can have foals registered in the USA. Most of my horses are 100% Colombian, I have 2 mares that are imports and have sold several stallions that were imported from Colombia. Do you have any horses? What kind of chickens do you have???
