FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

So had a total shock today.. Since Sunday afternoon I've been dealing with my daughters horse being on deaths door he still isn't out of the woods yet but is perking up. So I hadn't been playing with the chicks at all any of them not the silkie babies who are my fav's or our lil 3 week olds. Any how my youngest daughter and hubby have been on chicken duty while I was on horse duty with the oldest. Today I was sitting down waiting for the vet to come for a follow up visit when my youngest came up to me with one of the chicks.. the houdan and I was totally shocked to see all it's wing feather are real feathers now and it's poof is about a 1/4 inch tall now!! I went out to the chicken area and started visiting with all the chicks and couldn't believe how much they all changed in just 4 days!! One of my silkies is now sporting his rooness... and all the chicks are feathering out.. another silkie went from being this weird multi blend of grey white and black to being jet black.. I realize I need to take new pictures of them all now!

Sorry to hear abut your daughters horse, But just give him time & them vets do a great job.But with the chickens,Yes they do grow alittle bit fast if you don't keep an eye on them they will be out there cackling like a adult bird and crowing like a big boy. Next thing you know all of them will be like this

My Internet connection has been acting up this last few days, so I've missed my nightly BYC fix. The news around here is, Dianne: Angel laid her first tiny egg! Coincidentally, we were at the feed store a couple days ago, and they had one lonely chick - it's a buff Frizzle whom we've adopted, and hope that he/she will be good friends with Angel some day. I put a few eggs from our elderly hens under a Muscovy duck a few weeks ago, just for fun. The original duck disappeared (predator) one night, and one egg was broken. The eggs were cold when we found them, but rather than discard them I put them under another broody duck - so far we've hatched eight ducklings, and an adorable partridge Cochin chick. She's hanging out with the new Frizzle chick, waiting for siblings to hatch:)

Lisa... Mom (Dianne/ChooksinChoppers) computer decided to poop out on her in the wee hours the day before yesterday. She may only get on here when I let her borrow my pc in the mornings

at least until the pc guy can fix the screen on her laptop.
Happy to hear about Angel girls egg! And I am so pleased she is so loved, I've been shown all the posts about her

(And the silkies)

Next I'm posting what I hopped over here for...

Picayune Strand Trail Riding & Campout Weekend!

Naples, FL - Oct. 21-23 Friday-Sunday

Hi Trail Riders & Campers,
We are having a Fundraiser to give us the rest of the money to build the Pavilion in Ozzie's memory.

Ozzie Alvarez, was a devoted firefighter who selflessly volunteered on 9-11, aided in hurricane relief efforts, was an expert horseman and always a fixture on Yellow, his golden palomino, at the campsites, rides and cattle drives. All his accolades are too vast to list here, but his courage and integrity will always be remembered.

Picayune Strand was his favorite place to camp with his family, horses and dogs.
The Ozzie Alvarez Memorial Fund needs more help to reach it's goal for the pavilion in his honor at Picayune State Forest Belle Mead Trail head.

No, he/she/it doesn't, no longer peeping, but just stopped completly last week and he is 15 weeks! lol.....he's just "different" lol....has depth perception issues when trying to eat treats....fights with plants/shadows/air....can't figure out how to get out of the coop (some times) or how to get in....loves running from one side of the yard to the other then goes back hopping on his 2 legs like a bunny! lol

He's my wife Fav.....I told her to stop picking fav's since everyone ends a roo! lol

That sounds almost neurological. Do you know if he can see okay? He sounds - well - special.
