We live on the island mentioned a few posts up. We have a nice 10' gator in the lake down the road, but only a 3-4' gator in our lake out front. Stealthy coops in FL is an interesting idea, do you have to move onto the island? Wondering if maybe the mainland might be a better option for land choices. Hurricanes are a real concern since shelters won't take the chickens and the outter islands get evacuated you may not know when they will let you back on. When you think coops here you need to make sure they are hurricane anchored (they can be found at Lowes and HD down here) so they can with stand the winds.
If you are thinking line of sight then why not a board on board fence panel that is stained or painted? Nice looking, blocks wind, line of sight and you can attach hardware cloth to the inside and bury to keep diggers out. Lattice panels (either plastic or the wood ones stained or painted would be nice looking from the outside as well. You can back them on the inside with hardware cloth also. Bamboo, and other plantings can help hide, add shade and beautify the coop and run area also.
On the rain front, it is still pouring still strong winds and now the water out front is across the driveway, YaY! LoL tired of the rain, had things to do outside on this 3 day weekend.
