FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

Thank you! I will have to take more pics to show what it looks like in the open position but,I really like the design. It has worked well for us in Florida weather.I wasnt sure how well it would work at first because we had just moved back to Florida.I had spent the last 10 years in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where we were battling keeping the heat in LOL!

Hi All,
Just posted an ideal for the spring swap at FUZZYBUTTSFARM on the FLORIDA ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP CHICKEN SWAP page.
Let's get to work on this....
Maye

I posted that I would come and bring a BBQ grill. We can bring birds to sell if some advance advertising is done on Craig's list, and fliers put in local feed stores. I can bring Australorps, Delawares and EE's. Maybe a few Ameracaunas and Barred Rocks too. ......stan

Yes, I am like the "scout' for drug dealers, only I help people get their chicken fix instead of drugs in the Bay area. Shoot me a PM. I actually just ordered a bunch of eggs, and have a few to spare of some leghorn/ameraucana mixes that should be neat. I also have duck hatching eggs, and can point you to who has what around here for other breeds. Let me know!

I'm confused. I thought it was already legal to have 5 hens in Tampa? Have you been a CHICKEN OUTLAW this whole time, Juan!? And I aided and abetted you?

You know FIVE hens is really not enough LOL.... The min needs to be something like 10.
My husband tried to limit me to 5 when we first got started. There are just too many choices out there....

A couple of leghorns, A couple of EEs, a couple of marans, a couple of partridge rocks, a silver and a gold laced wyandottes, a couple of speckled sussex..... ROFLMAO....

I know what they need to do - - - -5 hens per person, not per household.... That would work!

It is like eating potatoes chips... you just can't stop MORE MORE MORE MORE!

SERIOUSLY, I am so glad to see the cities start making chickens legal....even if it is only 5!

Any particular breed you are interested in??

Nothing in particular right now. This will be my first test run so I don't want to get anything expensive or anything I will be really disappointed in if they don't hatch. I do have a couple of friends who would like some colored egg layers like Ameraucanas. I am open to any ideas and any advice from incubator addicts! So if anyone has fertilized eggs in the St. Pete , Tampa, Bradenton area let me know. I am going to buy a thermometer/hygrometer today while I am out .
Thanks, Missie!

Too funny. Maye is also an admitted chicken enabler! I will PM you .

I am also trying to get the afternoon off to attend the St. Pete city council meeting if you need more people to show support.

I'm in Palmetto, north Manatee county, and if you are not able to find any closer, I'll be glad to provide you a fix. I have pure Delawares, and Delaware crossed to pure Ameracuanas. They will give you a mix of blue green eggs, ( Ameracuana blue X Delaware brown shades = greenish ). I also have some blue, black, splash Plymouth Rocks, and some cross bred Australorp to splash Plymouth rock. Those should be 'blue' chickens, and good layers. My Barred Rocks are also laying well and are from a very good line. If you get pure bred hatching eggs, and pick up them up instead of shipping, you will have chickens that are easier to sell for not much more money invested. Raising them is the real expense, and it costs as much to raise a mutt as it does to raise a pure bred. Mutts are nice, I have several, I'm just sayin'. .......stan

Hi Stan,
I am at the south end of St. Pete so you are plenty close enough. It only takes me 15 min to get to the Manatee civic center.
I really like the Delawares, the blue and black splash Plymouth rocks and Barred rocks too. Maybe I could get a dozen or so , I agree that I would rather stick to the pure breeds. I am going to read all the info and set the incubator up today to be sure it is running properly.
