I'm real pleased that I've never had a bear in my backyard! Those really puts my problems with squirrels in perspective!

I have pigs in my backyard & they make a bigger mess out of your landscape. Atleast bears don't tear anything up like pigs do. But 1 little baby pig that I trapped awhile back is now my pet & she will follow me anywhere. I was walking to the store alittle bit ago and my pet pig wanted to walk along. When I got about 50 foot away from my house a deputy pulled up behind me and said you need to have a leash on your pig or take it back to your house. She will climb up in my lap if I let her to get a snack. But I don't think I could handle her weight. I have videos of me & her going out back in the woods to check the traps.I'm real pleased that I've never had a bear in my backyard! Those really puts my problems with squirrels in perspective!
I had wild pigs around here when we first moved here. I liked them because they ate the wild acorns and such from a portion of my yard that I don't use. All gone now, neighbors ate 'em.I have pigs in my backyard & they make a bigger mess out of your landscape. Atleast bears don't tear anything up like pigs do. But once them acorns are gone them pigs will tear your yard up.It don't take em long to root up a 1/4 acres of land. But if you ever need you a garden plowed up to replant something then pigs are the best at it.But my pig has finally started listening to me about not rooting my yard. But once next year gets here they said on the news the other nite that there is gonna be a shortage of bacon. So everyone will be hunting pigs when that happens..Pigs are very smart animals.I had wild pigs around here when we first moved here. I have about 30 chickens 4 turkeys & 1 pig and I can see the prices rising. The news has been saying all food is going up cause of the drought. So I think I'm gonna get my well working & grow my own. cause all them chickens turkeys & a pig cost alot to feed.Go to youtube & search for daytona041 & you can see some of my stock.I have alot of chicks eating alot of starter feed then I have to feed the older ones egg layer pellets and my pig gets pig food.yup!
Our five chickens eat about one 50 lb bag of laying crumbles a month. Because of the drought, this feed has gone up to 16.50 per 50 lb bag. Now, these five Red Stars lay almost 2 dozen eggs a week. - and that's really a lot and all you could really ask from them.
My son, sells these eggs at $2.00 per dozen to our church members.
now,
at 2 dozen per week and 4 weeks per month that's 8 dozen per month. at $2 each that's 2x8 which is $16 per month.
We are making a grand profit of negative 50 cents per month.
Watch for eggs to go up in price at the supermarket the guy at the feed store said.
