I cooped up the girls for a day and a half, and they ate down a fair amount of the laying mash. No sign of bird feed--they peck at that real fast!!!
Looks like they ate some of the old egg shells, too, although not all of them. They'll eat more when they need to.
I start my new job tomorrow! So Lucy and Ethel will have to stick to eating what we leave them in their coop until we come home from work. Then they get a few hours of free ranging, which of course they love.
Do any of y'all keep a kitchen scrap bowl for your coops? All I've saved until now are egg shells.
What do you like to throw in there??
