    Hey!

We just bought our first hens. We are excited to begin this adventure in backyard chicken raising with our kids. We have 4 kids and 5 chicks. :) Our kids have allergies to pet dander so backyard chicks were the perfect pet for our kids! We were excited to discover that our HOA allows domestic pets and chickens fall in that category. Thank you all for your helpful posts. I am excited to learn from everyone.

Wow, what a great HOA, you really lucked out. Most folks with HOA's are not allowed to have chickens.

    WELCOME TO BACKYARD CHICKENS :wee

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

BYC has Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining; so definitely worth checking out.

If you would like to share more Pictures and Stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
