Flower Power, winter has been to long crochet swap, closes March 10

They're moving along. I should be good for two sets or more, depending on what our final count is.
Same here. I will wait until closer to March 10th and see how many members we have before committing to a second set. I have an other pattern I want to try which might take a little longer than this one.

I would love to see the dogwood pattern. I don't believe I have seen it before. My husband's family lives in Virginia and that is their state flower too. It would be nice to make them something with a dogwood on it.
I don't have a link to the pattern I plan on using pending my personal test block, but I did find this one I may make for myself. The blocks are 10" using I-hook, so they could be made smaller by using a smaller hook and sport weight or baby yarn.

All the blocks are so pretty! I "had" to go buy yarn today as I didn't have the right green, but I always like when I "have" to buy yarn or fabric :) I picked out for my first choice a pansy...so tonight I hope to do the first and see how it goes, I do have backup choices

I live in California, too. Maybe I'll switch to yellow/orange for poppy colors. Good idea.

I think that I have settled on a pattern (see below). I have made two samples in white with pink centers, but am switching to the soft pink and yellow combo. Right now, all I have complete are the yellow centers for 16 blocks.

I am having so much fun... looking at various patterns online, seeing the lovely pictures you all post here, becoming so inspired and dreaming about afghans I'd like to design and make.

Arizona's state flower is a cactus...so not happening. Pansy is a pain with a really small hook...so I tried my second choice which is supposed to be a rose, the petals tip up when done, so revamped and making look more like a wild rose still with the tip-ups, pics to follow over the weekend.
