Flowergirl basket to hold dove/update Here it is!

Oh thankyou, You know when some days you just dont "have it" the creativity comes and goes.
I may need to use Georgie porgy or one of the babies who will be ready by Feb 14!!
Dear little Georgie is used to performing though she is very spoilt too. She comes inside and sits everywhere in the house.
The most important thing is that they need to be able to see the dove(Pigeon) in there!
I will post a pic of the basket as soon as its done. i want to get it done asap today so i can show the bride to be!
This will be an ongoing service too that i can offer all brides!

YOu might need to put some kind of perch or something in there - if the dove is just in that basket folks won't see it very well.
Tulle might work, try it first cause it might "hide" the dove as well.

If you had time and the motivation, perhaps you could use fishing line weave from the bottom up to the handle or so. If the dove is happy in there she probably won't be flappin around to get out so that will probably hold just fine.

GOT TO HAVE PICTURES!

It will have a false bottom in there so she can sit there, she loves sitting on pillows!! so shell sit on a little pillow ans will be "nil by mouth" 3 hrs before so she doesnt poop in there and smell the church out!!

That weird thick bendable metal wire they use for sodering (welding) pipes is really easy to manipulate. You could get a roll or two from the hardware store and make a cage around the basket you could easily wrap it in lace as well. You can make little swirls and such and have it look very Victorian. the metal is not strong but it is so pliable and certainly will hold up to a dove.

Thankyou, Im feeling that the basket really wont look as nice as a little cage of some sort and your idea really could work.
Maybe ill get a basketry base with the holes around the edges and start the wire up from that.
This is harder than i thought but when i do create this i will have it ready for any brides that wish a bridesmaid to carry one.

that is true, more visible as a bird cage too!

isnt soldering wire made out of lead though?
not sure it would hold together very well either, unless i am thinking of the wrong thing.

Why not try to find one of those little fancy white wire or wicker cages that looks sort of like an antique coach lamp? Tie a bundle of small ribbins in the brides maide's colors and allow them to stream from the ring at the top where the girl carries it. Add a couple arranged bunches of tiny flowers and ivy for a good splash of color as well but let the dove and cage be the main focal piont. The dove would show up wonderfully and the cage would be both gorgeous and easy to release from.

I thought these pics might give you a bit of inspiration and an idea of what I meant. These particular cages are on USA ebay right now.
