!Heres a challenge!
I have a beautiful Italian wedding to do and need to design a basket to hold a dove for the flowergirl to carry.
I got a basket which is pictured, now i need to somehow wrap lace or something over the basket so the dove cannot get out.
Any suggestions ?
Thanks
Helen

How about making a circle out of the lace and putting elastic around the edge. Put it over the basket with the elastic at the bottom. It wont show...but will stretch to release the bird. I hope the girl is old enough to carry the bird gently.....while it is stuck in the basket!!!lol

Yes thanks.
The little girl has been here to try and hold the dove however she has never held a bird so we decided its not going to happen!!!
she will be able to hold the basket and Georgie will behave herself in there ( I hope!!)

tulle is very wide and the fabric store will cut it to the desired length. take the basket with you and pull it up the way you would arrange it.

put basket in middle of fabric and gather over top of handle. gather with ribbon that can be easily undone ( a knot with one piece looped instead of pulled through. leave the looped piece long.)

when it's time, just pull the long piece of ribbon to undo the fabric and voila, out comes the dove!

Helen, what a great idea. Love the basket. Now, get yourself some tooling...if you can, match the brides veil....set the basket on the material...then draw the sides up to the top, and wrap a huge ribbon that matched the wedding colors around the top. Maybe some tiny pearl strands draped from the top, streaming down the sides of the basket. Whatever you decide, dont forget the pics!!
